Driving north to Salzburg, we decided to take a "long-cut" to look at the highest mountain in the Austrian Alps - Großglockner - and the Pasterze Glacier. After winding our way through the picturesque countryside and up the various peaks, we had to do everything in our power not to belt out "The Hills Are Alive with the Sound of Music".
Wandering around the streets of Salzburg, visiting churches, hiking to castles, and looking at Mozart memorabilia, we have noticed one thing...American tourists. After spending three weeks in Eastern Europe, the presence of loud and sometimes obnoxious Americans has been disconcerting. But even they cannot diminish the beauty of this city.
