As we changed the clocks to central time the hour gained gave us an ideal opportunity to set off early again this morning. The plan was to stay at the David Crockett State Park near Winchester TN, but after making good time we decided to have a quick look around, a bite to eat and carry on to our next stop at the Natchez State Park just north-east of Lexington. After some more challenging drives across very narrow bridges and more winding roads we were nearing our destination when the GPS decided to detour us via an ATV gravel road route with 1 in 4 inclines – yikes! Darren has now officially driven a motor-home off road and will be entering the Holiday Rambler off-roading challenge next season!
The temperature on arrival was 98 degrees outside and 99 degrees inside the big bad bus which was in danger of overheating, along with all human and canine occupants...
A swim in the lake started to cool us off helped along with a cold beer or three!
