Sunflowers at Menoken

Awake to sunshine on a field of partially blooming sunflowers. For some reason can't get a picture in focus, but it's in my mind.

Stop in Bismark @ an automotive supply store for not much to fix the RV. Walmart however, comes thru, including a lightweight step ladder. We certainly didn't plan on carrying that for the trip. It gets stowed in the Saturn. I. 94 “The Enchanted Highway” as this section is called has enormous metal sculptures along the way (black and white cow on a hill, a flock of geese) Severe storms are predicted for today. Dickinson is an industrial town, Railroads, big trucks moving like a colony of ants on the town streets. We think it could have to do w/hydro-fracking for natural gas.

The campground is on the Heart River, hence the name. I would call it more of a stream than a river. Very mature trees give plenty of shade. We set up and the clouds roll in, it's a fight against time to get the RV repair done before the storm. Tom uses some wallboard fabric patch to glue the fiberglass back to the body and then caulk, caulk, and caulk. Not so pretty but should be water tight. Apparently there is a tornado warning but we don't know it til it's over. Heavy rains but not much lightning and wind. We play some cribbage and catch up on news. Our new flat screen is a nice addition. Tomorrow we will go by car to T. Roosevelt NP.
