St. Malo, France

We remembered this place fondly from a visit here in ’09… it’s an ancient walled city that is one of the prettiest places we’ve seen, when approaching from the sea. It was just as we remembered it, with one exception… it was full of people this time vs. pretty empty last time! The difference is August vs. September. Like most places, it’s better to visit when the kids are in school.

The weather was perfect, 70 degrees and sunny. We strolled the old city, had lunch at an outdoor café… cold beer, croque monsier and chocolate crepes. On the way back to get the tender to the ship we walked up on the ramparts of the walled city for a couple of photos.
