Sweet Surrender's Adventure's,chapter 2 travel blog

Hello Families and Friends,

We can stay for 6 months, then simply go for a sail, return to pay the fee, then stay for another 6 months if we want.

Our first week in St.Lucia has been all about learning where and when to find stuff, prices etc,the currency is the Eastern caribbean dollar,2.6e.c to 1u.s.

Also the tropical storm Emily had everyone stressed and concerned, but the more you prepare the more likely the storm will not affect you,at least thats what I hear?

Two days ago was Emancipation Day,which marks the anniversary of the final Abolition of Slavery in the British Colonies. So everything was closed as it was an island holiday, but the next day everything was also closed because of the remnants of the tropical storm, just rain, maybe some small flooding, one man we met on the street offering taxi rides was not happy with the Prime Minsters decision, saying it is not good for his business or any other.

We have to visit the ministry of livestock today to make Timex a legal dog.

We are still in Rodney Bay,safest hurricane hole, and will remain here until the chartering gets busy,we are at anchor infront of the entrance to the marina so if a storm comes we can seek protection fast.

Captn John has bought 600ft of hurricane line so we can tie up into the mangroves for security as well.

We crewed in the Marigot Bay Race, and took first place, there were only 6 boats this time, normally 12.It rained upon our return from Marigot but still enjoyed our time.

We are organizing sea tours with our Canadian/St.Lucian friends whom live here, will post a link to their website in the near future. Also you can respond by email anytime.love to hear from everyone!
