We leave the campground with dark clouds overhead; stop at a visitor center along the way toward Girdwood. After a drive through Girdwood where there is a ski resort; we had thought about taking a ride on the tram but with the raindrops falling and the low cloud cover we chose not to do so. On down the road we stop in Sterling for Frank to take a check of the Rose; we had some REDLIGHTS coming on, but found nothing wrong, we continue on arriving at the “Fred Meyer’s” Parking Lot in Soldotna, AK. For you who don’t know Fred Meyer is the Kroger store in Alaska; there in Soldotna they welcome those with motor home/campers to stay overnight there in their parking lot. We along with several others did a little shopping at the store to show our appreciation for the space. Then we went to bed with the sounds of raindrops falling….
Frank sidenote - The road was pretty good except for about 30 miles through Cooper Landing... Extremely Narrow and BAD Pavement.. LOL
