The Meandering Millers travel blog

We started out this morning with breakfast at the Silver Diner and then to Petco and Costco. After that was out of way we took a drive across the bridge in to Norfolk and then down the shoreline toward Virginia Beach. The area was not great until we were further south and in the real tourist area of Virginia Beach. I guess I was a little surprised by Virginia Beach because I didn't expect the multitude of tall buildings. We never really saw the beach because of the buildings. The area was very crowded and people were everywhere! Driving down the main strip is an obstacle course of pedestrians because there's not many traffic signals so people just step off the curb in to the lane to cross the street at the many, many crosswalks. Virginia Beach was a view of concrete and bikini clad people carrying beach supplies. At least I had the opportunity to see what it was like but it's way too crowded in my opinion.
