It has been a good day. There were reunion meetings this morning as well as casual visiting between the veterans and between the wives. There are veterans here for the first time.

One wife told us of being caught in a blizzard four months ago with her husband of 20 years. Because of being in the house with no place to go he started talking about in Vietnam...DakTo. He talked for 12 hours. The second day the blizzard was still going on and he continued talking for the next 12 hours. It was the first she had ever heard...of him being in the Army, of being in Vietnam.

She eventually "googled" DakTo and started learning about what happened at DakTo. More investigation led her to the DakTo Defenders reunion. She is just amazed at her husband, seeing him talk to the other veterans, seeing smiles on his face. This is what the reunion does....gives a veteran a place to talk to others who have endured what he has endured.

This afternoon there was no organized meetings. Glen and I rode the light rail to the Pike Market....a location where there are four floors of all kinds of things being sold. There was fresh flowers, fresh seafood...fish/crabs/scallops/prawns/lobster tails, etc. There is honey, rosemary, jewelery, leather goods, you name it and it is sold at Pike Market. From there we rode the monorail to the Space Needle.

The Space Needle was built for the 1962 World's Fair; it is 603 feet tall. We rode the elevator to the top...well, almost to the top. We didn't go to the restaurant that rotates around the Space Needle.

Then it was a ride back on the monorail to the light rail station, then a ride on the light rail back to the SeaTac Airport station, which is just 3 blocks from the hotel.

We went to the Hospitatity Room for more visiting and interaction. We are in the room for the night. More activities tomorrow!

We have pictures from today, but the wifi service is not consistent or strong, so will add them probably Sunday, when we aren't in the hotel.

It is good for Glen and the other 45 or so veterans to be here.
