The Big Trip Around Aus. in a Tin Can travel blog

The sky as we left Jurien Bay

Home Sweet Home

22nd July. As a final entry, and summary of the Big Trip Around Australia in a Tin Can. This country of ours is massive, with as much or more beauty and harshness than is to be found anywhere in the world. You could do this trip time and time again and still not see everything.

I think the beauty of nature is what struck me the most, from the mountains, to the oceans, rivers and creeks to the stark uniqueness of Coober Pedy to the almost indescribable beauty of the wildflowers of Alice Springs and Western Australia .

On a personal note, for me the trip had its highs and lows, caravanning still is not my idea of fun, but I coped better than I thought I would.

We met some wonderful, amazing and beautiful people on this trip, some that will I’m sure stay with us as friends for life.

One of the things I found most difficult was the caravan parks and their amenities, (even though we had our own in the van, the shower wasn’t working properly) some were good but the vast majority were, dirty, badly maintained or just plain yuk.

This has been my own personal journal of our trip but if it has been of interest to anyone else then it has been a worthwhile exercise.

As we are already thinking of another trip in the future, I’m sure I will be doing another journal.

The End
