Lonely as a desert breeze
I may wonder where I please
Yet I keep on longing
Just to rest a while
Where a sweetheart's tender eyes
Take the place of sand and skies
All the World forgotten
In one Woman's smile
One alone, to be my own
I alone, to know her caresses
One to be, eternally
The one my worshipping soul possesses
At her call, I'd give my all
All my life and all my love enduring
This would be a magic World to me
If she were mine alone
One alone, to be my own
I alone, to know her caresses
One to be, eternally
The one my worshipping soul possesses
Oh that’s right no one wants any more selections from the Desert Song…. Bugga; well that’s the last one….
Well after a day in the Olgas we are all red rocked out, though it is more exciting than the Rock. Walked up the valley of the Winds which was even more red rock.
There is no scale in the pics, they need to get the Leyland Brothers Double decker bus and araldite it into one of the holes on the rocks so one can gauge the scale of things here. The Gnomes were prepared having consumed baked beans for breakfast….. Then went to the picnic area for a picnic lunch then back to the cultural centre to buy snow domes of Ayers Rock….
Everyone seems to be enjoying themselves.
I decided that I’d buy some beer as its now gone from cold to hot (32 under the awning this arvo) and got even hotter when I discovered that a) they will only sell a 6 pack on presentation of a chit and b) I couldn’t afford it anyway…. A 6 pack of light beer here is $38 and regular beer is $42 yes that’s a 6 pack….. Looks like I’m going to be thirsty…..
Kings Canyon tomorrow…. A 4 hour drive I suspect.
