It's HOT Here Too!
Jul 16, 2011
|Believe it or not, I sat outdoors this morning, wearing sweat pants and a sweat shirt.
Marilyn joined me and we enjoyed our coffee in the awesome Colorado morning.
We accomplished quite a bit today. We managed to get the Direct Satellite TV receiver hooked up and working properly.
Marilyn & I drove into Canon City to do some shopping at Walmart.
By the time we unloaded the groceries and put them away, it was time to walk over to Jesse & Ginger’s place for cocktails and some snacks.
Ken & Jean joined us and we had a nice time together.
While we were there, the electricity for the entire area went off.
It was hot today, with bright sunshine and a light breeze.
The humidity was higher than we normally see out here and it was not comfortable outside the air conditioning.
A bit after 5:00 we all headed out for a drive to Penrose to one of the places we like to go for good food and great gooseberry pie.
The Gooseberry Patch was our place to get together.
Ken & Jean drove their truck while Marilyn & I rode with Jesse & Ginger in their new car.
Steve & Cathy had driven to the Denver airport to pick up Steve’s sister-in-law who is visiting for a few days, and they joined us about 20 minutes after we had arrived.
We all enjoyed the good food and good company, with lots of laughter.
When we returned to the RV Resort it was good to see that the electricity was back on.
Our RV was nice and cool again.
Steve, Cathy and Barb dropped by to pick up some items we brought from Walmart, for them, and then I began working on this blog while Marilyn fixed some veggies in a marinade for tomorrow’s cook-out.
I have pictures to post from yesterday and today so I’ll get busy with that.
By the way, for those of you who know how I love ice cream, I want to confess that I ate so much at the Gooseberry Patch that I passed up the ice cream social tonight.
Every Saturday night the campground serves all the ice cream you can eat for $1.00 per bowl, no matter what size bowl you bring.
You can be sure that any time you can get all the ice cream you can eat for $1.00, Life is Good!
