Hallelujah – the sun is shining……
Today was spent around the rock. The camera does not do it justice; one can’t capture the scale or the wow factor with a camera. The sun came out around luncheon that was late due to some of the party walking around the rock in a record 2.5 hours this included extracting one of the party from a bog…. A plan was hatched to go to the sunset viewing and that was I wish I could say spectacular alas the whole thing was a bit of a fizzer, not a genuine ooooooohhhhhhh or aahhhhhhh could be heard, it just got dark, no dramatic change in colour, wasted good happy hour time…. Still I guess if you drive all this way you have to see the sunset….
There was some real excitement at the base of the climb. A Chinese girl fell over and grazed her knee, this caused much animated discussion among the others in the group and one of them pressed the emergency alarm button. Within a few minutes I heard a siren then an Ambulance appeared and a band aid was duly applied to the graze. I should have taken pictures but of course I’m sensitive to the Chinese not wishing to have their knees photographed… And that I assure you was far more exciting than watching the sun set……..
I did get some nice pics though, enjoy!!
Tomorrow we are off to explore the Olgas....
