As some of you have reminded me today is my birthday and even though I try to ignore such things I'd like to thank family and friends for their best wishes. Marilyn got in touch with her high school friend this morning so we are headed to Fort St. James which is 60 km north of the highway about 100 km west of Prince George. An easy drive although there is some traffic and we arrived at Jack and Linda Robertson's place in the early afternoon. Their property is large enough that we parked the trailer in their back yard. Very convenient. Had a great visit and Jack and I listened to Marilyn and Linda re-live their youth. Also met their son Mark and next door neighbour Jane, who joined us for dinner. They live on a beautiful large lake (over 50 miles long) in what was once their cottage. Fort St. James is booming as a mine is being developed north of town and all the support stuff that goes with that. Talked too much, drank too much ate too much and had a great time.
