What a great days riding. Started in the morning following the coast, leaving a freezing cold Cervantes . Stopped at a little Crayfishing town called Leeman to remove some layers of clothing. I used to live there when I was around 4 years old and still have happy memories of the place. Great to see all the old beaches and bushland my brother and I used to play in. No wonder we both love exploring new places and nature.
After a quick meal of last nights left over cold pizza it was back on the bike to Northampton via Geraldton for fuel.
I have never seen this area so green and lush , most of the time it is brown and windblown. Great hilly winding riding roads until the Kalbarri turn off. Then the landscape flattens out and the earth starts to become that rich red that the north of Western Australia is famous for.
Stopped on the side of the road to write a message with shells for Nat and Amelie .... Hope they like it!
Got into Carnarvon after dark, got to ride directly into the setting sun for over an hour. Luckily I found a nice big Roadtrain truck to sit behind to clear the road of any stray Kangaroos, Cows, Sheep, Goats and Eagles !
