We're staying at the Marine Corp Logistics Base in Albany, GA until we return home later this week. It has a nice campground out in the woods where deer come visit everyday, but it's only a mile down the road to the commissary and exchange, so it's very convenient.

We drove over to Plains, GA today to visit Jimmy Carter's childhood homeplace. We saw where he currently lives, but the public has no access obviously and there's a large fence around the property and has a security gate.

He grew up on a rather nice farm. There are still horses and rams in the fields and we took a picture of a corn patch with a scarecrow. Also saw a sidewalk that had been laid going up to the house that has his name and handprints in it.

Be home Thursday and will try to see everyone by the weekend.
