Today, I will tell you about the thrill of taking delivery of our new RV home.
We were up, showered, dressed and packed by 7:00 on Thursday morning.
We shared our morning coffee and ate some breakfast before I packed the truck. We then drove to Wheels RV and saw our new home, bright and shiny, with the awning extended and the basement storage compartment doors open.
John met us and welcomed us inside where we put some food items in the fridge.
John gave me a steady stream of information as we walked around the outside. I was familiar with most of the systems but there have been a few changes since we moved in to our 2007 model.
The 2011 Mobile Suites has a “Level Up” system where we can level the rig by pushing buttons.
After unloading the truck, we drove off to have a bite of lunch and buy the basic necessities for our new home.
Since we lost everything in the fire, we needed everything, and managed to spend enough to make our credit card beg for mercy.
Back at Wheels RV, I unloaded the items from the truck while Marilyn put things away.
At least it looks like someone lives here now.
Wheels RV was kind enough to allow us to remain overnight here on their lot, plugged in to 50 amp service.
We were supposed to take the RV to an RV park at a golf course not far from here, but just didn’t get things finished up in time.
Tomorrow we’ll finish the paperwork and move to that RV Park to watch a golf tournament and fireworks over the weekend.
We plan to stay there until the parts for the changes they will make come in next week.
It will take a day or two to change a few things and then we’ll be back on the road again.
This has been a very busy day, somewhat bittersweet, but we are so relieved to finally be back in our home. Well, our new home!
So we are going to sit here and relax together. We still have to make the bed, etc before we can sleep in there tonight.
We have no wi-fi so this journal entry will have to wait to get posted.
No matter! Life is Good!
