We walked the docks lining the mooring stations on Shute Habour in Airlie Beach this morning and saw some very large, expensive yachts docked. a cleaning crew was working on one, with one of them hanging over the side of the boat giving it a hand wash.
Walked over to the market that takes place every Saturday morning. Stalls of jewellery, clothing, art and food. We bought some fresh vine tomatoes. carrots, onions and red peppers. After walking a bit more around town we decided to head on up to the "end of the road" and check the little harbour out with its few boats and large ocean views.
We have decided to wait for Cairns to go snorkeling and possibly scuba diving on the great barrier reef. It has been lower in temperature here and the wind has kicked up. Jason looked on line and the weather is supposed to be like this for the next week with ocean swells of over a meter and a half so both snorkeling and diving is really not a great option for us here. Drove back the same way we came to the Whitsunday's and headed onto Bowen. Around 56km outside of Bowen we found a nice pull off to call our home for the night. Jason made a stir fry which was delicious. Watched Lord of the Rings Part 1 and went to bed.
