The day started with a cold breakfast and then the group gathered at the Totem poles at UBC for a group picture. The morning was nice and sunny for the first hour and that was great for the picture taking. After the group shots were taken we rode down to Spanish Banks for a wheel dip in the Pacific and again a lot of pictures were taken.

After leaving the wheel dip we rode about 30 minutes and ran into a good rain storm that lasted most of the day with some periods of respite. A quick stop for coffee and a cinnamon melt at Macdonald’s was really the only stop as we were all cold and extremely wet and wanted to get to the camp site as early as possible.

When we got to the camp site the sun did come out but the tenting area was so wet we all elected to sleep in the rec room they had available. Interesting to have a mixed group of 40 people in a small confined space.

A good dinner of fresh caught trout, rice and salad along with a couple of nice cold beers ended the day.
