Taken in the late afternoon
       NAS Oceana is where we're actually staying while in VA Beach. There is no training here. All these pilots are seasoned professionals. However, they do fly these planes day and night, even as late as 2 in the morning. Being close to the runway, the planes are getting close to the ground when they pass over the campground, so the noise is tremendous. Did manage to get a few pictures from the campground as there is no access to the runway on base.Also took pictures of the Prisoner of War Memorial here which is an eternal flame that burns until all POWs are brought home. |
