Well, I am currently in Belize and it's amazing. The entire country was once colonized by Britain so everything here is in English. This is quite the feat as it is the only country in Central America that is not Spanish.
So far I have spent the last few days in Cay Caulker which is a really small but amazing island in Belize. There are a ton of water based sports here including snorkelling, spear fishing, kite surfing, wind surfing, etc. I ended up spending my first day doing sailing and snorkelling and it was a blast. I got to swim with all sorts of things including sharks, sting rays, manta rays, barracudas, and so on. It was truly an amazing experience. Sadly, no one had a waterproof camera so I don't have any pictures of that particular event. If I can, I will certainly try to pick one up for the next time I end up being in the water all day.
It is so incredibly hot here. During the day the sun is really intense and the temperature seems to hover in the mid 30s with a very high humidity. During the morning/night it still feels like 30 degrees even without any sunlight so there doesn't seem to be much of a break from the heat. That's why jumping in the water is a necessity here as the water is just the right temperature. I ended up getting pretty burnt after my sailing boat/snorkelling day so yesterday I basically took it easy and caught up with a few things including my laundry.
I will be heading down to San Ignacio later this morning so today will be a travel day. I probably wont' have Internet access at the next location so I just wanted everyone to know that.
