The wait is over! The Captain's Log, Diamond Lil Does the Loop is now available on amazon.com
The publication date was June 18th and I waited not so patiently to see the listing go live today. The next step is the file conversion to the kindle ebook.
Thanks to Doug from our Bayliner Owner's Club who suggested mycreatespace.com for my self publishing venture. So far I've been pleased with thier services.
The marketing stage begins now. I shipped a book to several magazine publishers whom I've worked with in the past and hope to have some of them print a review in their magazine.
I also shipped a copy to the Executive Director of America's Great Loop Cruisers' Association (AGLCA), Janice Kromer, whom I have also corresponded with in the past, hoping that she can recommend the book to her members,of which there are hundreds.
I ordered 100 copies to be shipped to Canada for July 8th,(I arrive on the 6th)for friends and family back home and will order more to bring back to Roatan for friends on the island and will hopefully sell some to the Canadian tourists that go past Diamond Lil waving and shouting out what Canadian town they are from. They are always shocked to see us here, so far from home and after a few of Bob's rum punches at Hole in the Wall, surely I can sell a book to a few of them.
I began working on book #2 this week, despite our busy social calendar. We attended our first Roatan shrimp festival at Parrot Tree Plantation yesterday and were amazed at the huge crowd in attendance.
Perhaps a non-book related posting is in order.
