| We made it to our first stop safely! I can't believe we are doing this!! Checked in @ Best Western around 12:45am. On the way down, here's what happened: -we get to the car rental counter (Thanks Earl for dropping me off!) and they are out of hybrid cars due to the US Open (bummer). So they offer we free fuel(yay) and then I sweetly suggest more and bam! we get a free GPS to use for the entire trip (double yay!) -I forgot my camera charger at home which I purposely went allllll the way out to Dundalk, MD to get on Friday for my trip (silly silly me). And then as I begin to plug in my PHONE CHARGER...I think ummmmm I wonder if this will fit my camera...YES IT DOES!!! Problem solved. -It rains...and rains....and rains.It would pour rain then stop for miles then start again. It was so bad at one point that we pulled over for a few minutes. It was crazy! Thanks Giselle for navigating the torrential, intermittent rain :) -Drove down a two lane high way for 90% of the trip...no traffic! -Stopped at Cracker Barrell and had the worst...I mean WORST..corn bread EVAH! Tasted like sawdust cornmeal...yuck! -Saw an exit sign that says "123"...How cool is that! :) Makes me think of Sesame Street. -Arrive @ the Best Western..room is great (loved the bedspreads), check in no problem...and then "ring, ring"...ummm "I wonder who could that be"...NO ONE! And it was NO ONE ringing our room phone until 2:30AM....WTF???? Not much rest for the weary. Until then....next stop Nashville |
