Arriving in Kuwait (at 6:30 am)

A mansion on the way to the Switzer's

Madame Paula

Begining of the eclipse

Madame Ellen

We arrived at 6:30 am and were met by a cute young lady (as promised to Jim by Toby). She escorted us through customs, etc. Had a great day catching up with Paula and Toby. Then we both had showers, fabulous massages and a nap!! Soon after we got up, Jimmy arrived (he had just finished work). We had a couple drinks, courtesy of Toby's stash, then a great dinner. Of course, we had to retell all our old stories!! Jim and Toby were roommates at Indiana University. We had also visited Toby and Paula in Portugal. Afterward Jimmy noticed a post on facebook by John about the eclipse and went outside to check it out. It was just starting. There was a little dust in the air so as the eclipse went on, there was an orange glow around it. We checked it every 30 minutes or so until we went to bed.

We were here about three years ago and remembered about the "call to prayer." It happens several times throughout the day, but you don't really notice it during the day. However, at 3 am, when you hear Arabic broadcast throughout the city over a loudspeaker, its easy to think you are being warned about an invasion!!

Maybe they were telling people to go out and look at the moon!!
