Travelled by bus from Banff to Calgary where we stayed one night. It is a beautiful city and we we met up with my Canadian friend I worked with in London 33+ years ago. Although we've kept in touch at Christmas time, this is the first time I have seen her since London. We had a wonderful afternoon and evening catching up and we ventured up the Calgary Tower to get a view of the city. We had plenty to talk about so enjoyed a great chin-wag over dinner.

Didn't venture too far, as Calgary is not known for too many major attractions, but more so the surrounding areas, i.e. Banff. We did however see the ski jump and luge run on our way into Calgary that was used for the 1988 Winter Olympics. Unfortunately we couldn't visit there, or the corresponding museum, as it wasn't due to open for viewing until July. We also saw the venue where the Calgary Stampede is held every year, which is scheduled for 8-17 July - apparently the place goes mad at this time - maybe just as well we won't still be around!
