Friday we took a day trip up the mountain to Highlands, a small upscale summer resort town at 4000' elevation. The temp was about 10 degrees cooler then in Franklin which has been unseasonable warm.
The drive is along some narrow twisty roads that turnout to beautiful waterfalls where the cool mist is refreshing. Highlands has several restaurants and shops along the main street, we stopped for lunch at Fressers Eatery just off Main St. There are a number of private golf course communities surrounding the town.
On Saturday we went to the first farmers market of the season in downtown Franklin. There were baked goods, plants and a few local crops but a little disappointing, maybe it's a little early.
After talking to the owner of the park and the staff we have decided to stay here and workcamp for a while, I'm not sure how long we will be here but we committed for two months and we will see after that.
