Our little road trip - 2011 travel blog

No update Sunday night, basically due to lack of time and motivation.

We left Stone Mountain at 10:30 for the 1+ hour trip to Sharpsburg GA to visit with my Aunt, Uncle, 2 of 3 cousins and their kids. We got there just before noon and did some talking and some eating and then we got on the road at about 3:30 to head south. We had a good time and it was nice to see everybody again.

Trip south was really good – very little construction, light traffic and good weather so it was pretty painless. Except for getting gas near Warner Robins – 2 stations had regular for $3.33 so we figured we would jump on that, but so did everyone else. And maneuvering the land yacht with attached jeep into and out of a crowded gas station is less than pleasant so we had to pass on the cheap gas and get back on the interstate.

We got to the KOA campground in Lake Park GA which is about 5 miles from the FL state line at about 8:15. By the time we got set up, made dinner and cleaned up, it was about time to go belly-up so that’s all there is to report.

We are getting near the end of our adventure – we plan to be home no later than Thursday, but maybe as soon as Tuesday but that decision has yet to be made. The more important decision is what’s for breakfast…
