2011 Gary & Linda - North to Alaska travel blog

Crazy Peak, at 11,214 feet, dominates this range of the Big Horn...

Spring Creek Campground & Trout Ranch on the Boulder River.

2011-06-04 On To Montana

We drove 367 miles today and landed at a really nice family campground near Big Timber, Montana, just off I-90.

The Yellowstone River and the Boulder River come together near here and the town of Big Timber lies in the wedge formed by the rivers. About 2 miles south of the town is Spring Creek Campgound & Trout Ranch, on the north bank of the Boulder River. All the rivers in this region are full and running very fast. Nobody is wading in them trying to catch fish; it would be foolish to do so.

We will move on tomorrow, working our way north a couple of hundred miles. We may not have any cell service at our next stop, like we experienced at Roubaix Lake. We can go several days without hookups if our holding tanks are empty and the fresh water tank is full when we start. So I may not be able to get to the internet for a few days.

Later,

Gary
