We are sending you our information from Oban, Scotland on the West coast, as there was no internet or mobile phone coverage from Seil Island itself.

We have had the best few days enjoying the wedding of Chantal and Donny, here in Scotland. We became famous as 'the neighbours' who travelled for the wedding.

Before preparing to go to the wedding on Thursday, we did some sight-seeing first. We went up to Oban, which is the nearest large town to Chalchlan-Seil (the little village where the wedding was held). Oban was 12 and half miles away on a very windy and narrow road.

We have come back in time with the speed limits and road signs all in the miles per hour, which sometimes takes some thinking. We have a little blue Astra as a hire car, which is very zippy on the straight stretches but not up the hills - a little gutless, says Rob.

While we have been looking around we have visited some very small villages and down some narrow roads with passing bays that mean you have to pull over if you see oncoming cars, or back back to the last passing bay. No road rage has been witnessed so far, but we have almost witnessed a head on, with someone not wanting to wait!.

Yesterday was the 'day after the wedding party', which didn't start til 6pm, so we had a free day to explore. So we drove all around Seil Island, discovering the villages of Easedale (which was across on another island - so we just looked across), Balvicar, and then drove up to Fort William to look at Great Britain's tallest mountain - Ben Nevis.

A full day, but some beautiful scenery. The day was considered a 'heat wave' for Scotland and it only got to 23 degrees. Some of the locals were commenting at the party about getting sunburnt because of the day!

Today we leave to start heading south. We will be staying at Carlisle tonight, then onto Sheffield Sunday night before arriving back near Heathrow for a very early start Tuesday morning.
