| So we made it (finally!) after many trains, one missed plane (on my part!), three flights and a boat (hurrah!) Fortunately, because I missed a plane, I managed to get on the same Heathrow to NY flight as Helen! Camped out at JFK and then chased breakfast all the way to Belize via Miami (time kept going backwards so we had multiple!) Belize is cool. Like how I imagined Mexico- proper scorching too (so nice!) We rocked up at the water taxi and got the boat to the island where we are (so not Caye Corker but Caye Caulkner!) It's like destination paradise- our hostel is on the beach so we're just about to bugger off and jump into a couple of hammocks! I've already sampled the fine cuisine that is rice and beans (nae tae shabby- think I'm gona need to get used to it too seeing as there ain't much else on offer!) We're 7 hours behind the UK here, the project doesn't start until Saturday so we're exploring Belize until then (and don't worry we're being safe and sensible and all the rest of it!) Toodles |
