|Early start today – had to have the bus at the service bay at 7:00 so they could start working on the list of items that I submitted, plus the 3 things I added since the list was made. They addressed all the items, were done at noon and we have made arrangements to come back next week and have 3 of the double-pane windows replaced due to the windows fogging. All we have to pay for is ½ of the labor – they pay for new windows and the other ½ labor. Not a bad deal for a coach with 20,000+ miles and us being the second owners. Tough to pass up that deal. And all the work they did today was $152. And they only charged us for one night at the campground. Service like that is worth the drive.
Anyway, enough about them…
We left Red Bay at 1:00 and headed east on Hwy 24 to Hwy 72, across the Tennessee River at Decatur AL, onto I-565 through Huntsville to Hwy 231, into Tennessee, then onto Hwy 50 through Lynchburg and to the campground next to I-24 in Manchester TN.
One fun fact – the campground is right next to the site of the Bonnaroo Music Festival in a couple weeks. You can Google it and see the list of performers, most of whom I have never heard of, if you are so inclined. The guy at the campground said they expect 250,000 people to attend. We won’t be among them.
Tomorrow’s plan is to drive back about 40 minutes to Lynchburg to tour the Jack Daniel’s Distillery and then do some restocking on the way back – in other words, WalMart. So far we have dodged the nasty weather that has been pummeling other parts of the country, but the weather dude says tomorrow and Thursday are supposed to be less than pleasant here, so we will still stick with our plan, but pay attention to the skies.
Just in case you were wondering, we have seen fuel as low as $3.45 for regular and $3.65 for diesel in the last few days, and we have paid up to $3.89 since we left FL, so maybe things are improving. At 6.5mpg that would be nice.
