Day 3 was to Ottmarsheim (56km). This saw us cross the Rhine into Germany (just because we could). By now we were into it (not) and we just wanted to get through the day. We past field of poppies and the bike paths are very flat and straight. Apart form the gravel tracks we had to cycle along and the large machinery we had to tackle. Really pretty country though. Beautiful wild flowers every where. It's crop growing country with lots of corn and wheat planted. riding onto town that night gave me a better appreciation of what the riders of the Tour de France go through. Sore butt over cobble stones. Not a good mix and one to be avoided. Dinner that night was once again accompanied by lots of wine to dull the sore bits! Bring on tomorrow.
