| left leeds ut heading to stateline NV (some 240 miles away) where we will start our trip on the loneliest road in america, rt50.. from there we will go to our first camp night stop in ely NV. our pics are awesome from our view point but the camera can only see so much, it was a cloudy day with small periods of light rain and bug attacks to our windshield... there were several places where there were NO services for 80/100miles and several 6/7k+ passes...while this road is not the tourist's no1 choice of where to go, this is, so far, a very very awesome scenic road and a shame to have such a name for this should be the busiest road in america for scenes if that is your bag... there are no sit down attractions mostly just awesome views... with lots of snow capped mountains at every pass... the people here are tough and friendly... since you may not ever come here, i hope our photos will give you some idea of it's beauty and grandeur... as we continus on, i hope the weather gets better and our pics also.... and yes we know if you've seen one red rock, they are all the same as is mountains w/snow caps, valleys and passes, some people are not into that kind of beauty... so for those, the first few pics will do... so far the rt50 road scenery is nature at its best...or one of them...the wifi here was so slow, it took me all night to upload these photos, we are at 6500' elevation which may have something to do with it's slowness and speaking of slow, at this height so are we, very! hay, for where we are, we're lucky to have ANY wifi. our many photos for today... https://picasaweb.google.com/110611301633645572191/Day18ElyNVRt50Start# ron & bebe everyday we get in our cars drive anywhere 100s of miles in a few hours, view our iphones/ipods text, talk on our cell phones etc., watch tv read our papers/books etc., can you imagine what the pioneers had to do just to go a mile in the plains/mountains??? and for out techies: Message:SPOT: OK Everything is ok.
