Living our RV Dream! travel blog

Our Bullard Oriole that thinks he's a hummingbird.

More four legged friends yesterday.

And down it comes again.

From the WalMart parking lot in Canon City.

Wow, what a change in the weather. Yesterday was wonderfully warm in the high 70’s and today it is barely 40 with snow. Oh well, I guess that is part of Colorado’s appeal …. No constant hot weather!!

Tony and Jesse only worked 3 hours this morning because their job entails working outdoors, so they were given the rest of the day off.

As I only had to go into work at 1 pm, we decided to bathe Miss Gucci. Two adults bathing one 12 pound pooch, crazy isn’t it? We share the job, he bathes her in the shower and then hands her to me to complete the rest of the job with the hairdryer and brush. I get the part that she absolutely hates!! ☺

I spent most of the morning researching car rentals for South Africa, and was left almost tearing my hair out. This has always been the worst part of the research (looking for the most reasonable prices) but this year things have changed. It is still the worst part of the planning, but now most of the car rental companies are asking for full payment at time of reservation, crazy. No ways!!! What a crock!!! This is a very expensive part of the trip and we only want to pay at the time of rental …….. so we continue our research, aaaargh!!!!

One of the RVers when leaving here the other day, donated 2 bicycles (one men’s and one women’s) to Mountaindale. They accepted them but did not really want them, besides the one needed some attention to its flat tire. They were offered to us and Tony was only too happy to do any work required to make them full functional.

After work we ran into Canon City for a few items and a bit of shopping for the Mountaindale store. Tony picked up an inner tube for the one bicycle while we were there too. As we walked out the store it looked so cool with the dusting of today’s snow covering the nearby mountain in the background.

Back home we delivered the goods to the store and then came home to watch American Idol and have dinner.

Tomorrow I work from 9 to 5, the longest work day so far, mostly on my own. I’m looking forward to that!!!
