|My intentions to write a bit each day isn't going to work! We were so busy the past few days that I just didn't have time to get on the computer.
Saturday (7th) our nephew, Ryan, and his family came over from Vashon Island for a visit and dinner. We spent some time at Magnusun Park letting the kids run around for a while, then out for sushi dinner.
Sunday (8th) we spent a quite morning at home then went out for Thai dinner with Eric, Regina, and Filumena. We all enjoyed it very much and had to take a short walk after dinner before we could drive home! Had a nice talk with Barbi in the evening.
Monday and Tuesday (9th & 10th) we spent doing shopping for the road trip, getting final errands completed, emptying out tanks, getting the stuff in the RV put back into storage place for moving, etc. We had dinner with Eric and his family Tuesday evening and said our good-byes with them. I did get a little teary eyed but am also glad to get on the road. Filumena had just got "word" that she has been moved up one level in ballet! We were all very proud of her and she was like it was nothing important!
We got off to a slow start this morning after hearing that the major road we had to travel on (I-405) was backed up for miles. It was 9:45 when we got on the road; when we got to the entrance to 405 it looked like a parking lot! It took us 30 minutes to get from the entrance to the ramp to in a lane of traffic on 405. We went 18 miles in the first hour! Not off to a good start! After we got past Issaquah on I-90, we didn't have any trouble with traffic at all. It was cool and rainy when we left Seattle, and cool most of the morning. After lunch and getting into Western Washington the temps went up to 81!!! I was thrilled!!!! It is still in the 70's at 7:15 p.m.
We are spending the night in Stanfield, OR; just east of Hermiston on I-84, at a Pilot station-RV park. We made 278 miles today; will be traveling through Oregon and Idaho tomorrow.
That's it for tonight; time for reading in bed for a while.
