It was a very easy drive of 190 miles from Mound House, NV to Likely, CA. Thank you to our friends the VanEmmeriks for putting us up on their place for the past 2 weeks. As we got the coach ready for this days travel we both admitted a little apprehension toward what we have committed to on this next stop.

It is a 6 months commitment for us. Rebecca will be working inside the golf clubhouse checking in golfers and RV'ers with a few other duties, Dave will be working outside as RV park maintenance, mowing lawns, cleaning up after guests have departed, watering the lawns, and a few other duties. We've been retired for 4 yrs and 6 months and now a big commitment for 6 months! We have to actually get up EARLY each morning to be at work by 8:00 a.m. So, off we went into the bright unknown of summer work camping, hoping for the best and wishing for good times and wonderful people to work for and with. We made the turn onto US Hwy 395 heading north and didn't leave it till we got to the little town of Likely, CA, where we turned east and found the park entrance 1 1/2 miles up Jess Valley road. As it turns out, we were met by the general manager/owner, Mr. Tate on the entrance road to the park. After introductions, he led us to our RV space, home for the next 6 months. We both said a big W O W! ! ! when he led us to, what is probably THE BEST RV spot in the county! YIPPEE ! ! ! We have a site that is overlooking the golf course, looking up a canyon toward the Warner mountains and with wonderful trees out our back window. Our site is normally a long term leased site. After we setup, we went down to the office and clubhouse to meet the people we're gonna work with and check out the facility. We were given our 3 company sports shirts each, all a different colors.

Be sure to check in with us often, if your not already on our auto notice list, for news about how the summer is going for us. There are many things in the area to keep us busy on our off duty times. This NE California has much of THE BEST trout fishing in all the state, nearby is a Nat'l Wildlife Refuge, also nearby is a hike leading to a waterfalls and much much more.
