My brother Tony and sister in love Tammy invited us downstairs for a Mother's Day breakfast so that began our day in a very tasty way! Tony is a very good breakfast chef - eggs Benedict, hash browns,bacon, juices, coffee and tea - yum yum! My sister Velia is also a very good cook! She and Joe invited us to their home in Dennis for a Mother's Day meal, so her Godmother Charlotte, brother Tony, Tammy, Mom, Dad, and I all joined in for a wonderful feast! Velia's "kids" - Blue Dog and Buster the Terror - were also there to greet us. Velia makes her own pasta so she served a delicious creamed seafood combo with scallops, haddock, lobster, and shrimp over the homemade pasta; we also had a super tasty ham and several veggies: asparagus, artichokes, grilled zucchini with mushrooms, and also minted English peas with pearl onions. Homemade strawberry shortcakes and whipped cream, and, as if that wasn't enough, a lemon torte, were served with coffee following the meal...we all pretty much had to roll ourselves out the door, and none of us needed any supper at all! Many thanks to both Tony and Velia for feeding us today! I certainly enjoyed my day off from the kitchen!!
