John and Janet 2011 Southern Trip travel blog

We wave goodbye to our campground hosts. We take the wide road out of the campground. We have breakfast and a Wal-Mart stop. We are now ready to move.

We take the interstate toward Lexington. As we get off the interstate, there is an accident up ahead. We sit and wait. Finally, cars begin to turn. I push the detour button on our new GPS.

We wind our way through a neighbor and find ourselves on a road through horse country. This is the high-end neighborhood! Every estate is huge with iron gates. It properties are beautiful! I may start hitting the detour button on a regular basis.

We cross the Ohio River and arrive at Alice’s by 12:30. It is a good afternoon to relax. John is watching the news. All of the towns we came through on the Mississippi River are now flooding. I guess we were lucky to get as far as we did following the river.

We have a great dinner with Alice’s mother. She has moved to Cape May Village. What a nice place to live! We have a great visit.
