Temple bells for Bridget

Blue and white porcelain, the start of a European craze

Ming Dynasty Jade

Shanghai is a wonderful city - very accessible via the Metro system, which is much like Paris' with about 5 times the people. Signage is in English and Chinese, which I am very grateful for. I got my museum fix today at the Shanghai Museum which was lovely and filled with wonderful Chinese art, sculpture and ceramics. After much walking and sightseeing, we both got Chinese style foot massages, which was lovely. Later we took the metro down to the Pudong (business/financial) district for burgers and fries, which was also quite satisfying, for a change. The city lights down here are amazing, as are the wonderfully diverse tall buildings. I wish we could stay here another day or two, but tomorrow we are off and running. Barbara I really liked the museum. Among many great pieces, they had some wonderful bells. I wanted to get one for Bridget but they were narrow minded about losing one. After the museum we had our feet massaged. We went to the Blue Frog tonight, but I will have to say the Blue Frog in Beijing is better. The food was the same but the atmosphere with the blues/jazz band in Beijing was much nicer. Other than that, I love Shanghai. Peggy
