Phew! We made it! Just kidding - but the last 30-35 miles of this trip was on narrow, twisty country roads! We're at the Dam Site Campground of Greers Ferry Lake, a Corps of Engineers project, in Heber Springs, AR, about 65 miles north of Little Rock. It is beautiful here. The lake is lovely and we hear the sunsets are spectacular.
We didn't get to see any of those sunsets as it rained and stormed nearly the entire time we were here. Not a big deal as we weren't here to sightsee. Nosiree. We were here to get some book-learnin' done! We attended a Club Workamper Rendezvous: seminars and training concerning the work camping lifestyle. How to market yourself, building a good resume, that kind of thing.
We are joining the ranks of workampers; "adventuresome individuals and couples who have chosed a wonderful lifestyle that combines all kinds of full or part-time work with RV camping." Our next job will be at Yogies in the Smokies, Cherokee, NC; we'll be there May 15th-Nov 1st. We'll be working in activities, helping run the various programs for the campground. Dave might even luck out and get to be Yogi every now and then! We're really looking forward to exploring the area, the Great Smoky Mountain National Park, Asheville, Maggie Valley. So if you're in the area, look us up!
