To all who keep checking on us, thanks. We are safe. We check the weather, talk to the locals and park near the bathhouse!
With that said, we abandon the Great River Road. The Mississippi River is flooding. We overheard at breakfast that one of the casinos in Memphis is closed. The River Drive is closed.
We pass through Memphis all right and head inland. We travel northeast toward an area called Land Between the Lakes.
Severe weather has hit this part of Tennessee. We see many downed trees. Some have large branches snapped. Some have completely toppled. Everyone has a pile of branches piled in front of their home.
We arrive at the Paris Koa. Two storms came through the area in just a couple of days. People with reservations canceled. We have the park pretty much to ourselves.
The town of Paris advertises that it has the world’s largest fish fry. It is taking place this weekend. Actually, it ends this evening with a rodeo.
