Back down at the foothills with Redbud trees

We are staying at a small RV park just a few miles outside of the Sequoia National Park. We have a river flowing through that we can hear day and night. The ride up the mountain was slow with all the switch backs.....Jim got a workout and we were very glad not to be pulling the RV.....in fact it probably would not have made it since not all the areas have been cleared of snow. We went from 800 ft in the foothills with beautiful wildflowers, oaks, redbuds, and century plants all the way to 7,000 ft with the giant Sequoias and plenty of snow. We saw deer and a cougar along the way. General Sherman (the biggest living thing on earth) was just as grand as expected. The roads that had been cleared were not icy at all and the sun was shining. We will be leaving tomorrow to head back home....wish we could just blink our eyes and be home. Once again, Jim and I have enjoyed each other's company. We have read, relaxed and played scrabble and dominoes when we were not out hiking around. My goal is to keep some of the simplicity of our vacation life when we get back home.
