Becca & Andy in China travel blog

oh dear!! That last entry wasn't very positive! After I wrote it we decided we'd pack up our stuff and make them move us. At 5.59pm as we were on our way down the corridor, our door was fixed. We met Deona and her boyfriend in the lift, he was taking her to hospital as she wasn't well.

We got a taxi in our day clothes and went to the dumpling banquet and show. I'm so glad we did because it was really good. The food was really nice and the show was good. After the show we tried to get a taxi back to the hotel. TRIED. Its practically impossible! They all drive like nutters in China! After about 20 mins we managed to get one. We asked a rickshaw drive how much and he said 20yuan. The taxi only cost us 7 on the way down and we told him this, he chased us all the way down the road shouting "8! 8! I TAKE YOU FOR 8"

When we got back to the hotel we just collapsed in our room and watched the Chinese Take me out. Not so funny in China. An early morning wak up call at 5.15 was very painful. Came down to the lobby at 5.45am to a new tour leader, Andy.

The flight to Hangzhou was good and was only 2 hours. When we got to the hotel, tour guide Andy gave us 2 hours to rest which was great!

We had our showers and went to KFC for lunch. Turns out, KFC in China is very different from KFC at home! Andy's popcorn chicken was a brown funny colour. I bit into my Zinger Burger and it was full of tubes and veins! Yuck! I had to leave it and just ate the chips. it only came to 40yuan anyway!

When we'd finished we came back to meet the others to go to West Lake. It was amazing. So so beautiful and peaceful. Andy, Natalie, Steph, Jenny, Noel & I shared a small boat out on the lake for 160 yuan. it was so lovely. After, Andy & I went for a walk along the lake.

On the way back to the hotel, we stopped by a small stream surrounded by trees and Andy proposed to me! :-)

I'm going to sleep now - tomorrow I must write about:

- terracotta warriors

- engagement dinner at 5* hotel.
