| Suitcases had to be outside of our doors last night. So this morning was an early rise - breakfast started at 5:45AM anyway - we went up at around 6:30AM. By 7AM we were finished and ready - so we then got ready to sit in a lounge. But they docked on time - or early - and all our luggage was off loaded by about 7:15AM. Then we got off the ship ourselves - met our driver and headed to the airport. Our flight was not until 12noon and they did not open up the area for us to check our luggage until 9AM - and we were there at 8:15AM - after a 45 minute drive to the airport from the ship. So we waited around, walked around a little - but no too far as we did not want to have to move our luggage. We finally got checked in - got rid of our luggage - went through security and immigration - and went to the gate. Then we had to move from the gate to a different area so they could set up the security..... then finally on the airplane for the 11 hour ride home. The airplane was mostly empty - so we each had 2-3 seats to stretch out and nap or cross-stitch or sort pictures or whatever for the trip home. By last count we took 4913 pictures all together - and after deleting the obvious out of focus ones - sorted it down to 3713 pictures which takes 6.33GB of memory. We arrived back in NY a half hour early - but Wendy had a 3 hour lay-over and then was due back in California by about 1AM??? - quite a long trip for her! Thanks Mom for a wonderful experience!! |
