The first day of our cruise ironically brought us back to France. We chose to skip the organized tours (which wouldn’t have been in English or French anyway) and decided to just disembark and take the costal train from Villefranche to Monte Carlo, 15 minutes away in the Principality of Monaco.

The kids enjoyed checking out the mega yachts, some parked in the harbour with their matching Rolls or Bentleys on shore. We had a great mid afternoon ice cream near the Casino. We also oogled all the fancy cars, and checked out the F1 race track.

After walking up to the Prince’s palace, we headed back to the train station through the most elegant subway tunnel in the world. While we are only leaving France now for a week and a half, Mom and Dad were starting to think about how sad we might be leaving France just 2 months from now. France really does feel comfortable to us now.

After taking the tender back to the boat, we enjoyed a very good dinner at our assigned table for the week. So far, the food at dinner is likely the best we’ve ever had at an all inclusive resort and only premium drinks have surcharges, house wine, beer and kids drinks are all free.
