St. Mary's Cathedral

Our final day! I can't believe it! It went so fast!

We walked through Hyde Park and stopped and went into St. Mary's Cathedral...beautiful stain glass windows and sandstone interior. Back across the park to St. James church but couldn't find a way inside.

Headed down to the CIrcular Quay and got on the 10 am ferry to Manly. Headed to the beach and the scenic walk. Went around to Shelly Beach and then a circle around through the National Park and towards North Head. Beautiful. Completed that circle in 2 hours and then had lunch. After lunch we took the city bus to Spit Bridge to start Manly Scenic Walk..10K..3.5 to 4 hours, easy to medium grade.

It was a beautiful walk and many beautiful lookouts! No one told us about the number of steps there were. Verne counted 1374 steps (wooden, stone & rock). We took a small short cut instead of going sown to the reef view. We completed the walk in 2 hours and 35 minutes! Verne was tired because his knee (the good one) hurt going up the stairs. i loved it. We both agree it was a much better day than yesterday at the Blue Mountains!

Verne wanted a shirt at the end that said "I survived the Manly Scenic Walk"!

Took the 5:15 ferry back to Sydney. A beautiful sunset on the trip back! ANd a beautiful full moon!

Dinner at the Quay and then some last photos of the Bridge and Opera House. A final ice cream cone for the walk back to the hotel through Hyde Park.

Early tomorrow it is off to the airport for the LONG flight home!
