This past weekend was the Sports Car Club of America's opening season race weekend at summit Point WV.
My son-in-law's boss races a Mazda RX7. He didn't run this weekend due to some mechanical issues with his car.
Saturday was nasty weather with the rain and wind. But we went out to the track anyway - Erinn, Brian, Charlie & I - and, of course, Al the driver. We got our weekend passes for the infield, watched one race and went to lunch.
Sunday the weather was much improved. We watched most of the races, ate grilled bison burgers (thanks to Brian & Erinn) and enjoyed being outside. Al brought his beagle, Duncan, and I got to pal around with him most of the afternoon. He's a sweet dog.
We were sorry that Al couldn't race. A couple of the other drivers that we know took first place in their divisions. Always fun to cheer someone on. Even the ground hogs enjoy a good race.
