The game park bonanza continues with a 3 day trip to the Serengeti and Ngorogoro Crater.Again its a must do in this part of Africa although its not a cheap 3 days....

The Serengeti was everything you expect it to be although seeing it on TV doesn't to the size of the park any justice. It just stretches on and on,as far as the eye can see and much more. There is basically 1 main road staright through the middle of the park unitl you come to the areas where you can camp then there is tracks leading off in every direction. We were in 4WD landcrusiers so it was a comfortable ride through the park.all the animals must have read the script because they were all just lazing close to the road which saved us having to go search for them.It was just a case of driving along the road and evey few hundred metres of so there was some lions.Drive a bit further and there would be some other animals....

I did witness 2 amazing sights both so different to the other. The first one was the 1000's upon 1000's of zebra and wilderbeast which were heading from the southern end of the park to the northern end where they then cross over into the Masai Mara which adjoins the Serengeti. The size of the herds was incredible and at one stage all you could see from horizon to horizon was zebra....

The second sight was that of the King Of The Jungle on the job.According to our guide Amos, the lion roots for 24 hours almost non stop. This was a fact which I found interesting and looked upon the lion with new found respect. When We actually saw a lion and lioness in the throws of passion it came clear how the male lion could go for 24 hours. This one was almost a premature ejaculator. He mount the lioness, make some strange howling noise, shoot his load then fall down onto the ground almost into a sleep. After a few minutes he repeats the same progress. Now this made me think that for any bloke out there whose girlfriend or wife describes him as a lion in bed, this is probably the said action she means. It certainly made the blokes amongst us comment that at least we can go longer than a lion........

After camping the night in the Serengeti we headed back into the mountains and to a campsite on the edge of the Ngorogoro crater. This was a spectacular place to camp as we were right on the rim.Bloody freezing cold though.....
