Last night the wind really picked up and kept the camper rock-in all night long. We also had some rain. Woke up this morning to 47 degrees and a 30 mph cold wind. It was gloomy and blustery all day, but we didn't let that stop us. We headed out to Corolla, NC, which is about 60 miles north on the outer banks. We took a guided tour in a 4x4 Suburban way up the beach to see the wild horses. The pics will speak for themselves. The amazing part of the trip was that there are about 100 homes way up the beach with the only access by way of the beach in a 4x4 vehicle. Most of these houses were very large and primarily vacation rentals. There are some full-time residents there though. We also stopped at another lighthouse which is called the Currituck Lighthouse. After that stop it was off to the Wright Brothers National Monument. Thank goodness the government wasn't shut down or we wouldn't have been able to get in. This place was really interesting and we saw the exact spot the Wright brothers actually flew for the very first time. Stopped at a nice local restaurant for dinner. Penny had pizza and a glass of wine. I had fish and chips and a beer. Happy hour you know! Hi to all our friends and family. Gary & Penny
