Thursday our last day we are able to enjoy the sites. We got the metro to Rosslyn this morning ( never again) the escalators out are the longest and steepest I have ever been on & they go SOOOOOOOOOOOOO Slow, so I just kept walking till I got to the top. We then walked about 15-20 minutes to Georgetown walking over the Key Bridge as went, where we saw the fisherman with the huge fish beside him. Georgetown has a lot of old buildings so we just wandered around the streets taking it all in also came across the old canal where you can still take a barge trip on the Chesapeake & Ohio Canal. The Old Stonehouse was also in Georgetown the only surviving pre-revolutionary building in the capital. We then walked back into the city heading for The Whitehouse ( what a disappointment) we came across the back of it first where there were several demonstrations going on. The security was very high here looked a bit over the top to us. We walked miles today we reckon about 10 altogether was aching by the time we got back on the metro. We went back to walk part way round the Tidal Basin again the Cherry Trees have already lost over half their blossom they say here they only last a week. On Saturday there is the Cherry Blossom Parade but we will miss this as although our flight is not till 6.58pm we have to get the RV & Car up to Hagerstown to put onto storage and this is over 60 miles away, then getting a shuttle back to Washington Dulles Airport to fly home. This is the last entry this trip hope you have all enjoyed all the photos.
