I'm hungry - where is the chili?

OK - This is Stacy and I've had to fire Goat. Oh, he still travels with us but his constant whining is too much and all he wanted to do was sit on the dash, gazing into Minnie's eyes, pining away because she has eyes only for Mickey. Enough - lets move on.

Sometimes, Sharon and I get lucky when we get to town just in time for some celebration and today was one of those days. Today was Comfort's "Hot Chili and Cool Arts & Crafts" and activities include some arts and crafts but mostly a CASI sanctioned chili contest. We drove down to the park about 10:30 and there learned that the really good chili was being judged at 2 and if we wanted, we could be judges. Judges? Chili Judges? Where do we pay our money? No - it is free. All we had to do was be at the park, waiting in line about 2. We were.

We tasted 10 different chili dishes and some were good and some were less than good. Each dish is judged for smell, taste, color and some other stuff. We were worried that the chili samples would be so hottly seasoned that we wouldn't enjoy them but that wasn't the case. Sure, they had some good season but nothing way too hot. And, free beer, cheese, crackers, and grapes for the judges.

We really enjoyed ourselves and would be judges again.
